In two of my previous articles of this tri series, I told you about those Material Design apps, which are widely used and have proved really useful for segments including News and Information, while the second article focused on best android apps for Weather knowhow/forecast and Organizational purposes.
In this post we will have a look at some of the Android apps for Communication, Multimedia and Device Customization.
Material Design Apps for Communication Purpose:
Various phones have various in-built messaging apps, but Google’s new Messenger is an unbeatable android app. A very clean and intuitive interface, yet with traditional texting facilities. Those not inclined towards using Hangouts for all their messaging requirements – this alternative messaging app is worthy trying.
Twitter’s official Android App is not the one, more users are inclined towards. Talon has successfully transformed Twitter into material design clients with several useful features and several fun visuals. It’s a great all round package, with customization features, that meets all your needs when it comes to Twitter.
If compared to Talon – Falcon is less featured, as it does not have any widgets such as support for popular Tweet Marcher Syncing Service. Still it is a wonderful experience using this app, with a tremendous dark theme. Also it is loaded with smooth animations which make reading and sending tweets really ravishing.
Sending images, files and links between devices is now a child’s play with Pushbullet. The process of managing your pushes is made convenient than ever by the app. Now is the perfect time to try it out.
Material Design Apps for Multimedia Purpose:
Increasing number of apps are designed with a mechanism of their own for sending content to a Chromecast, however; locally stored images or videos from your phone to a big screen is a major challenge. LocalCast is the game changer here, and that too it does in the Material Design Style. The fantastic app works with Apple TVs, Xbox 360 and one, Sonos and various other DLNA enabled devices.
This, Snapseed app is one of the finest tools available (now owned by google and free to all) on your device for editing images. Powerful wide array of photo manipulation features including tuning basics to advanced stuff like blur and sport repair. The newly implemented Material Design U/I makes it feel like a part of Android.
Material Design Apps for Device Customization Purpose:
Nova helps you take charge of your hand held Android device’s home screen environment – completely. Starting from Google’s clean Lollipop level Android base, this comes in as a refreshing change. User is empowered to change and enhance anything and everything that makes it look and work – the way you want it, if you are using a hand held device with manufacturer modified software.
Action Launcher is inspired by Lollipop-style launcher in a predefined different direction. Some of the features in the app include sliding app drawer, instant theming that can style your entire home screen to match your wallpaper – automatically, and also an option to keep widgets available as and when you need them – just through a upward swipe on the icon – without they taking up a permanent spot on your home screen.
This app, though is the last in the list, but gives your phones or tablets that extra dose of Material Design. Really cool and liked Material Design inspired live wall paper collection it is. Minima Live Wallpaper – alike the name – has to offer you dozens of fun material backgrounds, which subtly shift around as and when you tilt your device and move from one home screen panel to the next home screen panel. One has the access to even customize the colors for each of the wallpapers and teak practically every element that one can think of.
